Hikmet Sugoer's sneaker line SONRA has collaborated with the shipping company DHL and luxury retailer Budapester for a highly-limited Proto DHL-1 sneaker.

The SONRA Proto DHL-1 is limited to just 300 units and is made in Germany using recycled DHL bags and scraps from a DHL Boeing 757. The collector's item celebrates DHL's 50th anniversary and uses numerous heritage motifs throughout the design, such as a toe box made from DHL Express' red transport bags.

The yellow and red premium suede sneaker also features a DHL logo on the lateral-side heel in black, as well as an aviation-style hang tag that notes the edition number of each pair. Rounding off the sneaker's design is Budapester's moniker on the tongue, SONRA branding on the side and a grippy branded outsole finished in gum, which provides a contrasting touch to the crisp white midsole.

A dust bag is made out of the same polypropylene material that is used on the toe box, and the pair is packaged in a special DHL-style shipping box. The SONRA Proto DHL-1 will be sold via raffle on the dedicated Myudapester.com website for €300 EUR (approx. $330 USD) -- you have until September 19 to sign up, with a draw commencing on September 20 and pairs to be collected on September 21.

To mark the occasion of the 50th anniversary of DHL Express, mybudapester.com, retailer for designer brands, and the logistics company DHL Express are launching their own limited sneaker edition. Special features of the yellow-red branded DHL 1 Sneaker: The toe cap is made of recycled "Red Bags", special shipping bags of the global express logistics company. Among other things, they are being used in disaster relief. The tag also comes from DHL and is made from the metal of a 33-year-old Boeing 757 cargo plane. For this creative crossover promotion, mybudapester.com and DHL Express got the urban streetwear icon Hikmet Sugoer on board. The DHL 1 Sneaker comes in a limited edition of 300 pairs and costs 300 euros. The purchasing right will be raffled at mybudapester.com, registration begins today. The basic model for the DHL 1 Sneaker is the cult shoe "Sonra Proto" by Hikmet Sugoer. Its unique style is also reflected in the distinctive design of the current redesign: The yellow and red of the sporty-elegant shoe represents the colours of DHL Express. The tag contains the unique production number of the limited edition sneaker. The look is finalised by the sole branded with the designer label. The packaging is also a highlight: While the design of the shoe box resembles a DHL shipping box, the shoe bag as well as the toe cap consists of the DHL "Red Bag". The DHL 1 Sneaker is available exclusively online at mybudapester.com on 20/09, and on 21/09 in the Berlin store at Kurfürstendamm 43. Registration for the online raffle starts now!
